Christmas New year decorations: Moscow and St Petersburg

Trans Siberian fans that are arriving into Moscow and St. Petersburg will notice the increase in winter activities. We here at noted how the opening of the yearly winter ice rink in Red Square was on the national news!

Christmas markets are now very active – don’t forget that Russia celebrates Orthodox Christmas which is later than western Christmas. Also, the decorated trees are for New Year NOT Christmas.
